Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Osage. The plot of land which is now the cemetery was donated to the Sacred Heart Church by his grandfather. John Thomas Hofler, one of two children of Anton and (Mary Loidolt) Holfer, was born December 28, 1882, on the Hofler farm north of Nora Springs. He was graduated from the Nora Springs Seminary. June 28, 1909 he was married to Ida Theurer, who survives him. the couple had three children; Mrs. Ivan (Loretta) Graper, Buffalo, N.Y.; Mrs. C. J. (Olevea) Schell and John R. Hofler, Nora Springs. Survivors include seven grandchildren and a brother, Edward C. Hofler, Nora Springs. He founded the Hofler Seed Co., here in 1912. He was treasurer of the Iowa Seed Dealers Associaton 35 years; was an honoary member of the Knights of Columbus, in which he had been active many years; and had served as a member of the NOra Springs Town Council for three two-year terms.
