Read More	HARRINGTON, JOHN THOMAS JACK--John “Jack” Harrington of Geneva passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva, Thursday, January 28, 1971, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 23 days. The deceased was born May 2, 1885, in Madison township near Exeter, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Harrington, his mother being the former Honora Hourigan. Mr. Harrington farmed several years before moving to Geneva, where he made his home most of his life. He was married to Mrs. Myrtle Johnson Hafer, who preceded him in death several years. Before he became ill a few years ago, the deceased enjoyed gardening and also was always interested in the youngsters of the community. Mr. Harrington became ill several months ago and was hospitalized for extensive treatment before taking up residence at the Heritage of Geneva, where he was residing before his final illness. Survivors include a step-son, John Hafer of Denver; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a brother Dennis of Omaha, also a sister, Miss Virginia Harrington of Omaha. The Rosary was recited at the Farmer-Harris funeral home in Geneva at 8 p. m. Friday, January 29. Funeral services were conducted from St. Joseph church in Geneva at 10 a. m. Saturday, January 30, with Rev. Clarence P. Reisdorff officiating. Pallbearers were Don Apley, Alvan Heath, Ed McCluskey, Carl Schneider, Clarence Steider and James Willy.
