Description	:	John V. Bennett, 73, died last Saturday at the Bethesda Care Center, Edgar. Services were last Tuesday at the Urbauer-Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Edgar. The Rev. Donald Hunzeker was the officiant. Burial was in Edgar Cemetery. Bennett, son of Edward and Tady Eigenberg Bennett, was born July 16, 1919, at a farm four miles south of Edgar. Bennett, son of Edward and Tady Eigenberg Bennett, was born July 16, 1919, at a farm four miles south of Edgar. He grew up in rural Nuckolls County and attended rural schools. Sept. 21, 1940, he was united in marriage to Anna Dolores Ahrens at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings. To this union were born two sons and two daughters. In 1940 the Bennetts moved to California. He worked at a defense plant. They returned to the Nuckolls and Clay County area and farmed until 1959 when Mr. Bennett began a career with the city of Edgar. He was the caretaker of the Edgar Cemetery for 33 years. Bennett was also a Speidell Monument Company representative for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Timothy; two brothers, Robert and Arthur; and two grandsons. Survivors include his wife; one son, Edward, Edwards, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Denzil Davis (Judith), Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Mrs. Harold Brown (Becky Jayne), Friend; one sister, Irene Hammond, Hastings; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
