Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri. May 18, 1928, - pg 7 Ed Bennett Passes Away Edward Bennett was born June 30, 1868 at British Hollow, Wis. He was the third son of Charles and Mary Bennett. They came to Hayes County, Nebraska in 1889 where his father homesteaded and was engaged in farming and stock raising. They lived there until 1917. In September of that year he settled at Edgar, Nebraska, where he resided until his death. On September 19, 1897, he was united in marriage with Tady Eigenberg. To this union there was born the following children; Irene, Robert, Arthur and John, who were all present during his illness. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn his loss, a daughter-in-law, Lena, wife of Arthur, one sister, Mae, of Billings, Montana and four brothers, Phil of Brockway, Mont., John of Denver, Colo., William, who is in Alaska and George of Omaha, Nebr. An older brother and younger sister precede him by death in infancy. Another sister, Mrs Laura Jaycox, was killed in an auto accident in 1916. He was a member in good standing of Hayes Center Camp No 1901 M W A lodge. As a boy, he was of a jovial nature, joining in the usual pranks of the village. He was educated in the public schools of Lancaster, Wisconsin and he took part in the singing that was held regularly in the morning in the school chapel. He shared in the care of his younger brothers and sisters which gave place to many amusing incidents he mentioned in later years. He passed from this life at St Elizabeth hospital at Lincoln, Nebr. on May 10, 1928 at the age of 59 years, 10 months and 10 days. Mr Bennett was a kind and loving father and husband, a good neighbor, fair and considerate in all his dealings. Besides his family and relatives he leaves to mourn his departure and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, May 13th, 1928, at two p.m. at the farm home four miles south of Edgar. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev T. S. Hughes, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Edgar. The pall bearers were as follows: Wm Peters, J. D. King, Carl Diekman, Wm Schlichtman, Z. O. Elifritz and L. A. Grossman.
