Armstrong, night watch in Logan for the last year and a half, will be held at M.E. church tomorrow, Friday, afternoon at two o'clock. "Mr Armstrong was shot by a bandit early Monday morning, while making his rounds. He was taken at once to an Omaha hospital, where his left leg was amputated above the knee Tuesday evening in the hope of saving his life. "Surviving him are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. J. F. Barkoff of Logan and Mrs. Alma Todd of Crawford, Colorado; two sons, Archie J. and Jess W. of Logan; four sisters, Mrs. Betty Howorth of Woodbine, Mrs. LaSourd of Woodbine, Mrs. Dave Williams of Neola, and Mrs. John Brown of Logan; two brothers, J. A., of Plainview, Nebraska, and W.D. of Logan.There are eighteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. "Mr. Armstrong has been a resident of this vicinity for many years, a son of Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Armstrong of Reeder Mills. He had led an active life, but moved to town a few years ago. Since his appointment as night watchman here he has been attentive to duty and was on the job at all times. "The community was shocked and saddened at this tragic taking away from life. Business houses will close during the funeral hour."
