Description	:	John W. Clemens eldest son of David and Mary Clemens, was born near Pittsburg, Iowa, September 1, 1880 and died at his home, about three and one-half miles southwest of Keosauqua, May 9, 1911. Clemens eldest son of David and Mary Clemens, was born near Pittsburg, Iowa, September 1, 1880 and died at his home, about three and one-half miles southwest of Keosauqua, May 9, 1911. At date of death he was thirty years, seven months and eight days old. He was married to Miss Willa E. Mason Oct. 28, 1903 who with his parents, two sisters, Mrs. W.R. Davidson and Mrs. Clarence Allgood, two brothers, Harlie and Lynn, a number of relatives and a host of friends survive him. Most of his life has been spent in this community, one winter having been spent in New Mexico and one in Colorado where he had gone in search of health. Although his illness covered several years, he always bore his suffering with patience and won the sincere regards of all who came in contact with him. He was ever and always a loving husband, a good son and true brother. His memory will be kept green the minds of relatives and friends forever. The funeral service was held at the late home at 1 o'clock, May 11, 1911, Rev. C.A. Field officiating, and the bory was laid to rest in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Keosauqua, Iowa. The pall bearers were Ernest Barker, Maurice Eberhard, J.C. Heath, Maurice Murphy, Charles Murphy, and Hugh Elder. Submitted by LuRee (Carlson) Runnells, grand daughter of Charlie Murphy,(one of the pall bearers) and Obit. is in a old family scrap book in my possession.
