The deceased was born June 18, 1C75, the son of Michael and Barbara Upah Zeman at Chelsea. He was married on March 1, 1897, at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Chelsea, to Caroline Vitek, daughter of Joseph and Mary Vitek. He had been ill for 10 days. The deceased was born June 18, 1C75, the son of Michael and Barbara Upah Zeman at Chelsea. He was married on March 1, 1897, at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Chelsea, to Caroline Vitek, daughter of Joseph and Mary Vitek. He farmed on the home place until 1925 when he retired and moved to Chelsea. He was a member of the C.S.A. lodge at Vining and the Z.C.B.J. at Chelsea. Survivors include his wife, the following children, Edward Zeman of Chelsea, Mrs. Ollie. Hayek of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Ruth Petersen of Tama; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Parizek of Tama and Mrs. Carrie Herring of Denver, Colorado, five grandchildren: Marcella Potter of Cedar Rapids, Darlene Gorton of Marion, Mary Ann Ledvina, Beverly Henry and Gayle Smith of Chelsea, eight great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and three, sisters. Services were held Sunday, November 23, at 2 p.m. from the Hrabak Funeral home at Chelsea. Rev. Lowell Holmgren, pastor of the Haven Community church was in charge. Casket bearers were nephews: Melvin Parizek, Melvin Zeman, Paul Parizek, William Zeman, Leon Zeman and Melvin Uri del. Music was provided by Rev. and Mrs. Lowell Holmgren. Burial was in the National cemetery at Vining. People attended from Marengo, Victor, Davenport, Clutier, Tama, Belle Plaine, Toledo, Marshalltown, LeGrand, Van Home, Elberon, Cedar Rapids and Nora Springs.
