Mr. Bowen was married twice, one son by his first wife Ann Elizabeth Foltz--Fred Bowen, of Logan, Ohio, survives him. On April 21, 1887, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Durant, this union was blessed with one son, John Bowen, of Canal Winchester, who, with the widow, survive. Read More	Son of Andrew Bowman ------------ OBITUARY Wesley Bowen was born in Hocking County, Ohio, June 30, 1834, and died in Canal Winchester, January 6, 1917, aged 82 years, 6 months and 8 days. Mr. Bowen was married twice, one son by his first wife Ann Elizabeth Foltz--Fred Bowen, of Logan, Ohio, survives him. On April 21, 1887, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Durant, this union was blessed with one son, John Bowen, of Canal Winchester, who, with the widow, survive. In February, 1888, he joined the United Brethren Church under the ministry of Rev. A. Snider. Mr. Bowen was a soldier in the war of rebellion. He was a member of the 52nd Ohio Regiment, Volunteer Infantry, having enlisted July 31, 1862, and was honorably discharged June 3, 1865, in Washington. He participated in the important battles, Stone River, Murphysboro, Lookout Mountain Mission Ridge, Chickamauga and many others. He was a prisoner in Andersonville prison five months. He was a member of Alfred Cannoe Post No#261, Grand Army of the Republic. He was a patient sufferer. He did not come down to his last hous gloomy and sad. He was resigned to the will of God, and passed quietly and peacefully into the great beyond. He is no longer in the turmoil of life. Death has thrown his pall over our own brother. The silver cord has been loosed, the golden bowl has been broken, the pitcher has been broken at the fountain. He came to his grave in full age, and is gathered as the ripened grain in his season. So the life of our brother went out. The funeral services were held at the home in Canal Winchester, Wednesday afternoon, January 10, conducted by the pastor, Rev. N. W. Burtner. Burial at Union Grove Cemetery. Thursday, January 18, 1917
