Description	:	JOHN W. DIZE DIED YESTERDAY Mr. John W. Dize, prominent Jacksonville section resident and churchman, died in the McCready Hospital Thursday morning, where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was 81 years of age. Born in Crisfield, he was the son of the late Noah B. and Sally Daugherty Dize, and the husband of Mrs. Bertie Tawes Dize. Born in Crisfield, he was the son of the late Noah B. and Sally Daugherty Dize, and the husband of Mrs. Bertie Tawes Dize. Mr. Dize was a staunch Republican, and served one term in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1916 to 1920. In his younger days he was engaged in the seafood business here, successfully. Then for many years he was an employee here of the Department of Tidewater Fisheries, retiring from position 12 years ago. He seldom missed a service at Immanuel Methodist Church, of which he had been a member for many years, and for a long time was active in its affairs. A man of firm convictions, he was pleasant, courteous, friendly, energetic, and of high moral character. During his long life he came known known to and respected by hundreds of people in the tidewater sections, and had warm friends in many places. In his own community he was held in high regard and esteem. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in Immanuel Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. J. Howard Link. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Bertie Tawes Dize, two daughters, Mrs. Hildred Ruark and Mrs. M. Dana Tawes, and one grandchild.
