Hipsley family was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Alexander near Shenandoah, Sunday of last week in honor of Mrs. Mary Hipsley of Chicago. Besides the relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Smith Brooks were in attendance, there being in all over forty guests present, including several from here. A very pleasant time was had until afternoon, when the tragic death of Mr. Hipsley, age 80, who dropped death while visiting with relatives, changed the happy company into one of sadness and gloom. Sympathy is extended to the relatives in their sudden bereavement. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon of last week at his late home near Essex. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hipsley, Mrs. Grace Brooks, and Mr. Jake Hipsley attuned from here, he being a cousin of Uncle Jake. They had eight children in 19 years. He died on July 2, 1933, in Page County, Iowa, at the age of 80.
