W. Rogers to Be Held Tuesday J. W. Rogers, 78, died Saturday night at his home on W. Walnut Street from heart trouble. He had been ill only a couple of days. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the D. M. Evans Co. Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Stanley W. Wiant. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Mr. Rogers was born near Hillsboro and lived all of his life in this community. He was active in The business, social and political life of the community. He served two terms as Recorder of Highland County, being elected in 1893, and serving for over six years. For a number of years he operated a grocery here and for many years was the owner and manager of the Adams County Mineral Springs Motel. He was a member of the Methodist church and all the Masonic bodies. Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, one son, Dwight of Detroit, Michigan; one daughter Mrs. E. W. Gabelman of Washington D. C.; three grandchildren; one brother, Walter Rogers and one sister, Miss Nota Tharp, both of Hillsboro. Mrs. Gabelman and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Rogers are here for the funeral.
