Description	:	John Wesley Stevens, son of Henry and Harriet Stevens, was born at Mystic, Ia., on December 10, 1880. He moved to Orofino, Neb., in the early twenties. October 10, 1922, he was united in marriage to Mable Ellen Everett at York, Neb. The first three years of their wedded life was spent on a farm near Cambridge. Two children were born there. The family resided near Fairmont from 1926 to 1928, when they moved to a farm near Grafton, where a third child was born. Mr. Stevens spent the remainder of his life there... Read More	John Wesley Stevens, son of Henry and Harriet Stevens, was born at Mystic, Ia., on December 10, 1880. He moved to Orofino, Neb., in the early twenties. October 10, 1922, he was united in marriage to Mable Ellen Everett at York, Neb. The first three years of their wedded life was spent on a farm near Cambridge. Two children were born there. The family resided near Fairmont from 1926 to 1928, when they moved to a farm near Grafton, where a third child was born. Mr. Stevens spent the remainder of his life there and was active in farming until failing health caused him to retire. He departed this life at Geneva, Neb., November 9, 1956, aged 75 years, 10 months and 30 days. He leaves to mourn his wife, Mable Stevens; three children, Wilma Milby of Albuquerque, N. M., Alice Belz of Stapleton, Neb., and Harold Stevens of Grafton; two brothers, R. B. Stevens of Des Moins, Ia., and Howard Stevens of Rockford, Ill; eight granddaughters. His father, mother, a brother and a sister preceded him in death. John Wesley Stevens was a kind husband and a loving father. All who knew him will always miss him. The funeral service was held from the Congregational Church in Grafton Monday, at 2 and was in charge of the minister, Rev. Maude V. Mann. The hymns, "The Beautiful Land" and "Beyond the Sunset" were sung by Mrs. Milton Ely and Mrs. Harry Korensky, accompanied by Mrs. Vera Bellows. Interment was in Grafton Cemetery.
