Description	:	Obituary John Wesley Stohr was born in LaSalle Co. IL on Oct. 9, 1854 and came to IA with his parents at the age of one and one-half. They settled in Buchanan Co. on a farm south of Fairbanks, where they lived for seven years. Then they moved to Fayette Co. He was married to Delila Zimmerman Jan. 25, 1882, who passed away May 12, 1911. Three children were born to thhis union: Gertrude, Burle and Jennie. Burle passed away April 30, 1926. For the past eight years he has made his home with his step-daughter, Cora Judd in Hazelton. He leaves to mourn his departing, two daughters, Gertrude Downing and Jennie Brickman of Oelwein, a step-daughter Cora Judd, of Hazelton, two step-sons, James Zimmerman and Leland Hunt, two brothers, Jordan Stohr of Kansas, and D. L Stohr of Oelwein, eight grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of Christ, having united with it thirty years ago. Funeral services were held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the Church of Christ in Oelwein with Rev. Kermit Pugh officiating. Interment was made at Greenwood cemetery at Westgate.
