Description	:	DEATH OF WILLARD BREWER Willard Brewer was born in Clairmont county, Indiana, on June 14th, 1857, and was 50 years, 7 months, and 6 days old at the time of his death. He departed this life on Jan, 20th, at about 4 o'clock in the morning. He came to Kansas in 1889, and his parents, Bryant and June Brewer came out here a few years later. Read More	DEATH OF WILLARD BREWER Willard Brewer was born in Clairmont county, Indiana, on June 14th, 1857, and was 50 years, 7 months, and 6 days old at the time of his death. He departed this life on Jan, 20th, at about 4 o'clock in the morning. He came to Kansas in 1889, and his parents, Bryant and June Brewer came out here a few years later. He was married to Lametta [sic]Jane Ingram, Jan. 18th, 1888. To this union 4 sons and one daughter was born, all whom survive him. Besides his parents, wife, and children, he has one brother who lives in Indiana, and two brothers have preceded him to the great beyond. He has been a resident of Fruitland since 1893, and has been a prominent in school affairs, and other business relations in that community. The cause of his death was Bright's disease, which was hastened by the grip. He had been sick for some three weeks. He was a member in good standing of the A.O.U.W. order of this place, and carried $2,000 insurance. Short services were held at the residence Tuesday afternoon Jan. 21st, owing to his mother not being able to come to town. More extended services were held at the M.E. church here at 2:30. Rev. Funston of that church having charge of both services. The lodge of which he was a member took charge of the remains and they were interred in the Americus cemetery. He has a wide acquaintance who will join with the mourning ones in sympathy in their bereavement and his early death has cast a gloom over the community. -Americus Greeting, Thursday, January 23, 1908; p. 4, c. 3
