The sympathy of the community is extended to Mr. Preston Heltibridle who was called upon to mourn the loss of his father, Mr. J. W. Heltibridle, which occurred at the family residence in Miller last Saturday evening, following a short illness. Some twenty or more Masons and several others auto-up to Miller Monday to attend the funeral which was in charge of the Miller Masons, of which lodge the deceased was a faithful member. Mr. Heltibridle had been in public life for a good many years and was well known and respected by a larger number of people in this part of the state. He came to this locality in the early eighties and filed on a homestead in Burdette township, residing there until 1901 when he moved to Miller. For several years past he has been serving as County Commissioner of Hand County, and it was while in the performance of his official duties, inspecting a bridge that was being put in, that he met with the accident which, doubtless, was the indirect cause of his death, or at least sapped his vitality until he was unable to withstand the ravages of the disease which attacked him. He was only 61 years of age and right in the midst of his usefulness. He had an elegant home in Miller, one of the best in the city, and was situated so as to enjoy life to the full, but death is no respector of persons. He leaves his wife, a son who is our fellow townsman, a daughter, several brothers and sisters to mourn his loss.
