Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Greeley with the Rev. Gerald Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a 7 p.m. rosary. Mr. Ketchmark was born on July 20, 1916, on the family homestead northwest of Greeley to John and Donna (Hughes) Ketchmark. He was raised on the family farm and attended rural school. He farmed with his parents for a time before moving to Huntley, Ill., where he helped his brother on a dairy farm. He returned to Nebraska and married Clare Schmeits on May 28, 1945. They lived on the Anton and Henry Schmeits farm northeast of Spalding. They later moved to a farm on Mud Creek northeast of Spalding. In 1957, they moved to a farm northeast of Burwell. In 1969, they moved to Scotia, where they bought a farm on the east edge of town. Mrs. Ketchmark died on Sept. 13, 1993. He continued to live in Scotia until his death. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Scotia. Survivors include four sons, Joseph of Omaha, Frank of Westminster, Colo., John "Tom" of Lincoln and Bernard of Hastings; six daughters, Patricia Gingery of Beatrice, Michaela Schultz of Clarks, Colleen Pedersen of Scotia, Mary Dierberger of North Loup, Ann Russell of Hastings and Theresa Freeman of Doniphan; 28 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Ketchmark of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Donald Ketchmark of Springfield, Mo. He was preceded in death by his wife; an infant son, Billy Joe; a grandson, Ryan Ketchmark; two brothers, Leroy and Jim Ketchmark; and one sister, Julia Schmeits.
