Bolwar was born Jan. 16, 1852, near Floris, in Davis county, where he has always made his home. He was married Sept. 22, 1872, to Mary E. McCormick, who preceded him in death two years ago the first of last March. Ten children were born to them. Two died in infancy. They were Mrs. Nellie Anderson, deceased; Mrs. Effie Skinner, Mrs. Myrtle Kneedler, deceased; Mrs. Sarah Russell, Mrs. Cordia Martin, Mrs. Maude Bandel, Mrs. Myra Hill, and Mrs. Jas. Wishard, deceased. Besides the children living, he leaves for a while longer, two half-brothers, two half-sisters and a step mother. Some eight years age he became a Christian and united with the Christian church at Floris, and has since lived the Christian life. During the illness of his wife it was not his privilege to attend the house of God regularly, but since her death he was quite faithful in his attendance and enjoyed the services in the house of prayer. He attended the revival held in Bloomfield recently and it was constantly on his mind. He spent much of his time reading the Bible, which was a comfort to him when walking alone. For the past two years he has made his home with his children. Recently his home was with Mrs. Martin, but about two or three weeks ago he came to the home of Mrs. Bandel and here took sick and passed to his reward Monday night, April 17, 1916, at the age of 4 years, three months and one day. Services were held at the home of Mrs. Bandel, Wednesday conducted by Rev. G.E. Purdy, of the Bloomfield Christian church. A quartet composed of Mrs. Wishard, Mrs. Talbott, W.E. Wishard and Bert Hancock sang at the services. Services were also conducted at Dunnville at 2 p.m., by Rev. Dan Hastings of Floris. Interment followed in the Dunnville cemetery.
