John Wimer was born January 20, 1906 east of Logan, the son of James and Eva (Evans) Wimer. He died March 6, 1988, at Rose Vista Home in Woodbine. Wimer was married to Vera Sherer on December 21, 1929. They farmed in the Pisgah vicinity for many years, then his ill health caused them to move into Pisgah. They resided there until July, 1981, when they became residents of Woodland Apartments in Woodbine. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Willie, and one sister, Viola. Survivors include his wife, Vera, one son Kenneth and wife Barbara of Woodbine; grandson Kevin and wife Jeanne of Sheldahl; granddaughter Kelly Jo Mikels and husband Brent of Woodbine; a brother, Ralph, of Cambridge; sisters Ida Cox of Pisgah, Luella Stewart and Kathryn Haynie of Council Bluffs, and Nellie Chambers of Hugo, Colorado; many other relatives and friends.
