Description	:	WITTMACK, JOHN—John Wittmack of Geneva passed away Monday, May 11 at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 9 days. Mr. Wittmack was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and a charter member of Grace Lutheran church of Geneva. He lived a quiet life, his church, home and family being the prime interests of his life. He was born at Evansville, Ill., the son of Henry and Amalie Wittmack. Read More	WITTMACK, JOHN—John Wittmack of Geneva passed away Monday, May 11 at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 9 days. Mr. Wittmack was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and a charter member of Grace Lutheran church of Geneva. He lived a quiet life, his church, home and family being the prime interests of his life. He was born at Evansville, Ill., the son of Henry and Amalie Wittmack. He was the last survivor of a family of 11 children. As a small child, he moved with his parents to a farm in Iowa. In 1888, the family moved to Chase county, Neb., where he experienced the privations and hardships of pioneer life. October 23, 1896, he was married to Mina Jaeger at Greeley, Col., who preceded him in death in 1930. In 1896, he and his wife established their home near Shickley. In 1906 they moved to a farm in Bennett township, which was his home until 1939 when he retired as a farmer. The following three years were spent at Auburn, where his daughter, Ferne, resided. He then returned to Geneva and made his home with his daughter Lydia and grandchildren Ramona and Virginia Laun for the remainder of his life. He is survived by four children: Lydia Laun of Geneva, Walter Wittmack of Omaha, Linda Kemen of Franklin, N. Y., Ferna Mackie of Kimball, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held at Grace Lutheran church in Geneva, Friday, May 15, at 2 o'clock. Rev. D. Grummert of the local church officiated. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
