Suggested edit: From the Union County Courier, May 6, 1892, page 5: "Died, of accidental poisoning, at his home four miles north of Richland on April 30th, 1892, Mr. Jonas Sayules, aged 65 years, 10 months and 27 days. The deceased was born in Maulius, Onondaga county, New York, in 1826, but grew to manhood in Holmes county, Ohio, where his family immigrated in 1836. In 1855 at the age of twenty-nine he left Ohio and settled near LaPort, Indiana, where he became acquainted with and married Miss Elizabeth Jane Brewer, who with her two children, Elmer and Lula, are left in sorrow for the deceased. The family came to Union county ten years ago and settled north of Richland at their present home and by honesty and industry has gained a comfortable home and a wide circle of friends. The funeral services were conducted by the Masonic Lodge of Akron, Iowa, of which the deceased was a member, at the Methodist church Monday, the Rev. McClintock officiating, after which the remains were taken to the cemetery for interment followed by a large number of friends, relatives and neighbors who had gathered to pay a last tribute of that brotherly love which shall live beyond the tomb."
