He was the oldest son of Glen and Vinny Self Seals. He is survived by daughters, Sharon Wright and husband, Danny and Libby Cobb and husband, Bobby (who was his special caregiver); sons, Ricky Seals and wife, Cathy and David Seals. He was the oldest son of Glen and Vinny Self Seals. He is survived by daughters, Sharon Wright and husband, Danny and Libby Cobb and husband, Bobby (who was his special caregiver); sons, Ricky Seals and wife, Cathy and David Seals. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. He is survived by brothers, Garland (Buck) Seals, L. J. Seals and wife, Betty; sisters, Sue Elliott and Carolyn Childers. He is also survived by three step-children, Pat Wells and husband, Nick, Bonita Townsend and husband, Jerry and Lee Ramsey and wife, Lynn; nine step-grandchildren and a number of step-great grandchildren. He was first married to the late Elizabeth Ramsey Seals and his second wife was the late Mary Hopper Ramsey Seals. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Vicky Seals, a brother, Bobby Seals, a sister, Peggy Seals and a stepdaughter, Beverly Ramsey Mizzell. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and was a former choir director. He served his country proudly for two terms in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a building contractor for many years and loved wood working. He spent many happy hours fishing with family and friends. His nickname was "the king crappie man". He held the State title for the largest sheepshead fish which he caught off a pier at Folly Beach. He was loved by all his family and will be greatly missed. Gravesides services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Gardens Blakely Funeral Home & Crematory, Gaffney, SC
