Pall bearers were Frank Behounek, Frank Sell, Charles Upah, Frank Stanek, Frank Kupka and John Dvorak. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Kosnar reached the age of 75 years. He came to America from Bohemia with his parents at the age of 9 years old. The family spent a short time at Cedar Rapids, and then moved to York township, Tama county. They spent one year on the Ulch place In York and then purchased a farm in Salt Creek township, which is still In the family. Here Mr. Kosnar grew to manhood. On April 9, forty-six years ago, Mr. Kosnar was united in marriage with Josephine Frye, the wedding taking place in Toledo. They resided a year with Mr. Kosnar's parents, and then got an eighty-acre farm from the parents. Later they purchased forty acres to add to the original holdings and still later they purchased 100 acres to add to the farm. Sixteen years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Kosnar retired from farming and moved Into the house they purchased in Chelsea, which has been their home since. Mr. Kosnar is survived by his wife and three children. The latter are Charles Kosnar, of Salt Creek, Louis Kosnar on the home place in Salt Creek, and Mrs. Sam Skarda, of East York. He also leaves three grandchildren and one brother, Frank Kosnar, of Chelsea. Mr. Kosnar enjoyed good health until about two weeks before his death, when he became ill with bladder trouble. After a week's treatment at home, he was taken to the Mercy hospital. He seemed to be doing nicely under treatment there. Mrs. Kosnar, who had been to see him Tuesday morning, found him in a seemingly much improved condition. Late in the afternoon, however, his condition changed for the worse and he soon succumbed.
