Description	:	Joseph A. Concannon was born on September 12, 1909 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Joseph L. and Mabel Trieber Concannon. On August 29, 1939 Joseph was united in marriage to Florence E. Mill at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Iowa City, IA. She preceded him in death on November 17, 1994. Mr. Concannon graduated from St. Peters High School in Keokuk, IA with the Class of 1927. Concannon was born on September 12, 1909 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Joseph L. and Mabel Trieber Concannon. On August 29, 1939 Joseph was united in marriage to Florence E. Mill at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Iowa City, IA. She preceded him in death on November 17, 1994. Mr. Concannon graduated from St. Peters High School in Keokuk, IA with the Class of 1927. He graduated with honors from the University of Iowa Law School with the Class of 1934. Mr. Concannon practiced law in Keokuk, IA for more than fifty years. In November 1934, he began working with the law firm of George L. Norman in Keokuk. In 1938 he was appointed as a Magistrate Judge, in 1942 he was elected to that position and to many old friends he was still known as Judge Concannon. He was associated with the Robert Walker Law Firm for two years and then became a partner in the Boyd Walker, Huiskamp, Concannon Law Firm, working with Robert Walker, Logan Huiskamp and Bertha Boyd and later Judge David Hendrickson and other lawyers. The last twenty years before his retirement in 1996, he worked alone. He was a former member of St. Frances de Sales Church and currently a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk, IA. He was a member of the National Bar Association and the Iowa Bar Association where he served on the Board of Governors. He was a member of the Keokuk Rotary Club, the Elks Club, Knights of Columbus and longtime member of the Keokuk Country Club. He had served on the Keokuk Federal Savings and Loan Board of Directors and was active on the Grand Theatre Commission. He took great pride in having developed the framework for the Grace Bott Millar and the Agnes Benstein Charitable Trusts and served as a trustee for both trusts. Buried on Mar 17, 2003 in a Wilbert vault by Vigen Funeral Home.
