Description	:	Joseph Allen Hall was born April 15, 1867, in Alabama. At the age of two, he went with his parents to Arkansas. He was second in a family of seven children, of whom only three survive: Mrs. R.E. Brown, Folsom, CA, Will Hall, Barber, Arkansas, and R. Dee Hall, Perkins, Oklahoma. On September 18, 1890, he was united in marriage with Alma E. Griffith, of Ravanden, Ark. On September 18, 1890, he was united in marriage with Alma E. Griffith, of Ravanden, Ark. In 1916, Mr. and Mrs. Hall left Arkansas and lived near West Plains, Missouri, for six years. From there they moved to Villisca, Iowa, where they resided three years before moving to Loup County, Nebraska, where they made their home the last 18 years. Four months ago they came to Valparaiso. At an early age, he united with the Methodist Church in Arkansas. He had been in ill health for several years but had been bedfast only three weeks. He slipped away peacefully in the home Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the age of 76 years, 8 months, and 27 days. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Valparaiso, Saturday, January 15, 1944, with Leonard Hartwig, of Lincoln, officiating. Survivors are his wife, Alma Hall; five daughters, Mrs Virdie Nicks, Corning, Iowa, Mrs. Mae Rogers and Mrs. Gladys Yocum, Valparaiso, Mrs.Ruth Hoobler, Milburn, and Mrs. Thelma Dunbar, Lubbuck, Texas: three sons, Ivan Hall, Portland, Ore, Ira and Roy, Downey, California; 23 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Wife Almarinda E. Griffith Hall died Oct 28, 1958, Sargent, Custer Co., NE and is buried in the Moulton cemetery, Almeria, Nebraska.
