Description	:	Joseph B. Wisnieski, 75, of Dodge died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Nye Legacy Health Center in Fremont. He was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Cuming County to Joseph and Philomena (Kreikemeier) Wisnieski. He attended school in Dodge and graduated from Dodge High School in 1954. Wisnieski, 75, of Dodge died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Nye Legacy Health Center in Fremont. He was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Cuming County to Joseph and Philomena (Kreikemeier) Wisnieski. He attended school in Dodge and graduated from Dodge High School in 1954. He married Mary Ida Chapman on Feb. 1, 1958. The couple farmed and raised their family southwest of Dodge until moving into Dodge in 1991. He also worked for the Dodge Co-op. He was in service to the U.S. Army for six years and was stationed in Korea as a member of the military police. He played baseball for the Special Forces in Korea. He was an active member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 122, a member of Howells Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Dodge Public School board member for 24 years, served on the library board and state dairy board. He also played baseball for the Dodge town team, coached Legion baseball and served as the American Legion tournament director. Survivors include: his wife, Mary Ida of Dodge; 10 children, Stephen of Dodge, Mary (Kevin) Janata of Howells, Peggy (Bill) Allen of Gainesville, Fla., Alice (Ken) Ritzdorf of Elkhorn, Joe (Beth) Wisnieski of Dodge, Janice (Jeff) Bart of Aurora, Sue (Ron) Schommer of Uehling, Dan (Brenda) Wisnieski of Dodge, Matt (Chris) Wisnieski of Lincoln and Mike (Brandy) Wisnieski of Gretna; his mother, Philomena Wisnieski; a brother, Gerald (Marsha) Wisnieski; a sister, Mary (Dick) Tingelhoff; 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. today at the church. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be said at 3 p.m. today and a public rosary will be at 7 p.m., both at the church. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 122. Memorials may be made to American Legion Baseball.
