Schultz was born in Steinaur on 18 Sep 1875 and died a Beatrice hospital on 9 Aug 1953 at the age of 77 years 10 months and 28 days. He moved to the Lewiston vicinity with his mother about 55 years ago and resided here until his death. On 2 Mar 1910 he was united in marriage to Emma Caroline Hillers. To this union was born a son and two daughters. He was taken seriously ill on 4th of August and taken to the hospital. Mr. Schultz was a man of fine character. He lived an active and useful life. He accepted Christ when a young man in the Catholic faith. He was a loving father and grandfather; a kind friend and neighbor, always willing to help when needed. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Elizabeth and Charles Schultz, his wife Emma, his son Joseph Gilbert, two brothers, and one sister, and a grand-daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Snider. He is survived by his two daughters: Mrs. Elizabeth Sophia White of Lebanon, Oregon and Mrs. Irene Kathryn Snider of Lewiston, Nebraska; five grandaughters: Carolyn Verda, Fayetta Mae, Darlene Beth, and Ruby Mae White of Lebanon, Oregon and Roberta Jo Dobbs of Long Beach, California; two brothers: John B Schultz of Burchard and Frank Schultz of Tecumseh; two son-in-laws: Robert Snider and John White; and grandson-in-law, Keith Dobson; a number of nieces and nephews; and large circle of friends. The funeral service was held Thursday, 13 August at the Lewiston Methodist Church with Rev. Mrs. Lillie Rush officiating. Burial was in the Lewiston Cemetery. Pall bearers were: Walter Erickson of Virginia, Nebraska; Ernie Lytle of Lewiston, Nebraska; Carl Hedding of Wymore, Nebraska; Jerry Kozak of Virginia, Nebraska; William Morris of Lewiston, Nebraska; and Harm Tjaden of Wymore, Nebraska.
