Mr. Strickfaden, a bachelor, had lived alone since the death of his parents several years ego. A neighbor, Leo Perkins, who called at the Strickfaden home early Friday morning, summoned Herman Diehm, another resident of the district, when through a window he saw Mr. Strickfaden slumped down in a chair in the house. The two men then entered and found Mr. Strickfaden dead. Coroner J.D. Bradish was called and pronounced death due to natural causes. Mr. Strickfaden had been in failing health for some time. Death was said caused directly by a heart attack. Mr. Strickfaden had prepared his breakfast but evidently was stricken as he sat down to the table. He had moved to a rocking chair. The food had not been eaten. It is believed he had been dead for about two days when found. His mail for two days had not been taken out of the box. He was the son of Benjamin and Kathrine Strickfaden and was born near St. Stephen, Seneca-co. He came with his parents 58 years ago to the farm where he died, but from your manhood until 31 years ago he had worked as a laborer in various sections of the country. He came back home to help care for his parents when they became feeble and continued to live alone on the home place after their deaths. Mr. Strickfaden was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic church. Surviving are two brothers, Neil of Willard and Louis of Monroeville, and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Pahl of Swanton and Mrs. William Hook of Willard. Willard Times, 10 Aug 1950
