Read More	Joseph Eldred "Joe" Morgan' Born September 4, 1921 died August 4, 1994 Joseph Eldred Morgan, the son of Wyatt Wayne and Leona Edith Moore Morgan, was born September 4, 1921 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a longtime resident of Newton, Iowa died Saturday Aug 27, 1994, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Knoxville, Iowa of complications of diabetes. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a graduate of Newton High School in Newton, Iowa. Joseph was united in marriage to Harriet Irene Gardner on September 23, 1945 in Sacramento, California. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton, Iowa. Joseph was a Veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years. He was employed at the Maytag Company in Newton, Iowa in the Methods Engineering Department for 31 years, retiring in 1986. Those left to honor the memory of Joseph include his wife, Harriett Irene Morgan of Newton, two sons, Steven Joe Morgan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Michael Lee Morgan of Panama City, Florida; four daughters, Pamela Kay Morgan of Denver Colorado: Carol Ann (Mrs. Terry) Gray of Newton: Linda Sue (Mrs. Tim) Wozny of Grinnell, Iowa and Kimberly Jo Morgan of Story City, Iowa: his nine grandchildren; and a brother B. (Byron) Dwight Morgan of Newton, Iowa. Joseph was an accomplished carpenter, mechanic, etc and could build just about anything. In his spare time the loved to fish, hunt and bowl.
