Description	:	HAFER, JOSEPH F.—Joseph F. Hafer, son of Robert and Ellen Hafer, of fourteen children, was born in Henry county, Illinois, May 17, 1878. He passed away in Geneva, Neb., July 28, 1947, aged 80 years, 2 months and 11 days. At an early age he came to Nebraska with his parents, settling at Fairmont. Later he moved to Geneva, where he had since resided. He was united in marriage to Angeline Lott, April 8, 1890. Two daughters, Hazel and Mamie were born to this union. His wife and Hazel preceded him in death. Mr. Hafer was a good neighbor. He appreciated the kindness and friendship of his neighbors and friends. He loved people. He went about doing good. He was interested in the development and progress of his community. Fillmore county was dear to him. He leaves to mourn his departure, his daughter Mamie Pflug of York, granddaughter, Eleanor Ritter; great-granddaughter, Cathleen Ritter; a sister, Lottie Eberstein of Ogden, Utah; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday, July 30, at the Kritner Funeral Home with Rev. Ben F. Wallace officiating. Mrs. H. A. Rosenau sang. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
