Hardy Thomasson, lifelong resident of Chico, succumbed at his home on South Broadway late Wednesday evening. Mr. Thomasson had only been aware of a heart condition since Monday, and his death comes as a shock to his family and friends. "Mr. Thomasson was born on East Eighth Street in Chico May 23, 1886. Following his local schooling, he attended Stanford University. He then returned to Chico and went into business with his father, who owned and operated a ranch located on the Dayton Road. "He later went into the insurance business, and for 25 years had his office on Broadway between First and Second Street. For the past several years, Mr. Thomasson has been associated with Floyd McKalson in the insurance business. "Mr. Thomasson belonged to the First Baptist Church and was a member of John Bidwell Parlor No. 21, Native Sons of the Golden West. "Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nettie Thomasson, and the following children: George Elmore Thomasson of Hanford; twin daughters, Mrs. Margaret Carlson and Mrs. Marian West, both of Chico; Mrs. Nellie Hansen of Sacramento; Mrs. Helen Brown and Robert and William Rouse, of Chico; and Mrs. Ada Stuck, of Napa. There is another brother, William M. Thomasson, of Juneau, Alaska, and two sisters, Mrs. Mazie E. Duffin of Van Nuys, and Mrs. Donna Ferguson, of Chico. There are also 19 grandchildren. "Funeral services will be held in the Brusie Funeral Home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and entombment will follow in the Chico Memorial Mausoleum."
