Death Notice from the Evening Democrat Tuesday, November 10, 1903 DIED--at the home, No. 1512 Fourth Street, Fort Madison, Iowa, Tuesday, November 10, 1903, at 10:30 a.m., Joseph Rempe, aged about 48 years. The family has the sincere sympathy of their numerous friends. The deceased has been gradually failing for some time. Obituary and funeral announcement later. ------------o------------- OBITUARY Joseph Rempe was born in Prussia, Germany, and came with his parents to Fort Madison, Iowa, when he was only three years old. In 1875 he was married to Theresia Droppel, of which union ten children were born, six of whom and the wife survive him. He died at the home, No. 1512 Fourth Street at 10:30 Tuesday, November 10, 1903, of dropsy. He was a faithful employee at the Morrison factory for over twenty years. His health commenced failing him about a year ago, though he had been employed for some time at the Santa Fe shops and was a member of the Blacksmith's Union. He was a good citizen and had hosts of friends who deeply sympathize with the bereaved family. The surviving children are Mrs. Theodore Teuttinghoff of Cheyenne, Wyoming, William, Ida, John, Henry and Fred, all of this city. Deceased was fifty-two years old.
