Four children remain in the household Ida, 20 years old has no occupation, John, 18 years old, employed as a laborer, Harry, 17, and Fred 14 had no occupation. Theresa 's occupation appears to be she has her " own income". This copy of the census is quite faded and very difficult to read. The 1920 Lee County Census enumerates Teresa, 62, as the head of the family living at 1512 Fourth Street, with sons Harry 24? a machinist and section hand on the railroad, and Fred 22, a tire builder at a tire factory. Obituary Mrs. Joseph Rempe of Fort Madison died suddenly at her home Friday noon, September 11, 1931. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church of that city. Mary Druppel was born in West Point township in 1858 and was almost 78 years of age at the time of her death. She lived in West Point until she moved to Fort Madison, where she was married to Joseph Rempe at St. Mary's Church many years ago. She is survived by thirteen grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 sons, John, William, Harry and Fred Rempe; 2 daughters, Mrs. Theo. Tottenhoff of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Henry Vierth of Fort Madison, and two sisters, Mrs. Steven Lohmeier and Mrs. John Marks, both of Fort Madison, She was preceded in death by her husband 23 years ago, one brother, four sisters and fours sons. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday from St. Mary's Church in Fort Madison, with Rev. Michael Kaufman officiating and burial, was in Gethsemane Cemetery.
