| Description | : | Sergeant, Co. H, 47th NC Infantry, "North Carolina Tigers", C.S.A. Wounded in "Pickett's Charge" on 3 July 1863 at the Battle of Gettysburg, PA. Hospitalized at Chimborazo Hospital #3, Richmond, VA from 20 July 1863 to 3 September 1863. Afterwards until 29 February 1864, he was out of commission. Captured at Petersburg, VA on 4 April 1865, and then imprisoned at Point Lookout, MD from 13 April to 29 June 1865.
