Description	:	Joseph J. Norton Sr., 75, 1517 W. Palmer St., died Thursday at a Sioux City nursing home after a long illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. Sylvester Micek will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited by the parish at 7 p.m. today and by the Father Tracy Council 3844 3rd degree Knights of Columbus of South Sioux City at 7:30 p.m. at the Larkin Northside Funeral Home. Mr. Norton was born June 10, 1904, at Watertown, Wis. He married Rita Brennan in November, 1929, at Detroit. They lived at Detroit for 20 years before coming to Sioux City in 1947. Mr. Norton was graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1924 and taught Spanish and English first at the University of Detroit and later at Trinity College and Heelan High School in Sioux City. He also worked for a time as a social worker in the Wayne County probate court in Detroit. In more recent years, he sold insurance until retiring about a year ago. He was a member of the Father Tracy Council 3844 3rd degree Knights of Columbus of South Sioux City and the Fraternal Order of Eagle, Aerie 77 of Sioux City. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Joseph, Jr., of Sioux City and Michael of New Orleans; two daughters, Miss Margaret Norton of Sioux City and Mrs. Don (Mary) McCarty of Springfield, Mass.; two sisters, Miss Grace Norton and Mrs. Stan Ryan, both of Madison, Wis., and six grandchildren.
