Read More	Joseph John McCormick, 71, of Lima passed away at 3:10 PM Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born on May 12, 1946 in Findlay, OH to James P and Rita Jane (Brennan) McCormick, both of whom preceded him in death. He was previously married to Joyce C. (Keller) McCormick who preceded him in death. Except for a few years living in Chicago, Illinois, Joe was a life-long Lima resident. While semi-retired, he remained active as an, often consulted, tax professional. In 2013, Joe had the honor of being the Grand Marshall of the Lima Irish Day Parade. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Parish, and a former member of the K of C #2661 and the Eagle's Aerie #370. He was an ardent supporter of St. Rose elementary school. At an early age, he became afflicted with a chronic but seemingly hereditary fondness for Notre Dame football. It affected him the remainder of his days. Most of all he enjoyed being with friends and family, having fun, laughing, Lake Erie walleye fishing, the Detroit Tigers, and attending his grandchildren's events. Surviving are his sons Michael J. (Kelly Bixby) McCormick of Cincinnati and Anthony T. McCormick of Lima; his brothers James P. (Roselyn) McCormick of Seymour, IN and Patrick (Julie) McCormick of Delphos; his sisters Agnes Hempfling of Findlay and Patricia McCormick of Lima; his grandchildren Anthony J. McCormick of Indianapolis, Brandon D. (Claire) McCormick of San Diego, and Jordan McCormick of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his brother Paul R. McCormick. In respect of the long McCormick family relationship with St. Gerard Parish, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at St. Gerard's. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church prior to Mass. Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date in Gethsemani Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Elementary School. Condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
