Served On County Board Of Education. First Clerk of Baptist Association In Campbell County. J.L. RIDENOUR, 67, of Sugar Hollow, LaFollette, Route 2, one of Campbell County's best known citizens, was claimed by death last Monday night, November 17 at 11:15 o'clock, death coming after a long illness and a stroke of apoplexy. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Sugar Hollow Baptist church, the Rev. S.O. STEPHENS, pastor, officiating. Mr. RIDENOUR's death closed a long chapter in the history of civil service with which he was closely allied. He was a native of Campbell County, spending most of his resident years in Sugar Hollow, where he always was regarded as an outstanding citizen. He was formerly a school teacher, beginning his school room experiences at age of 20 and continuing for more than 20 years. His association with county schools was more plainly written as a member of the County Board of Education for two terms 1907 - 1909 - 1910 - 1912. Mr. RIDENOUR was actively affiliated with the religious activites of the county. He was the [page torn] Clerk in the [page torn]unding [page torn]He[page torn]years. He was a Deacon [page torn] Clerk. Mr. RIDENOUR is survived by his widow, Mrs. Emily RIDENOUR; three sons, Dr. George L. RIDENOUR, pastor of the Phillips Memorial Baptist Church, Brandenburg, Ky.; Harry RIDENOUR, of Sugar Hollow, and Joe RIDENOUR, teacher at Hickory Creek; four daughters, Miss Carrie RIDENOUR, teacher in the East End School, Miss Mamie RIDENOUR, teacher at Alder Springs, Miss Maude RIDENOUR, teacher near Norma, Tenn, Mrs. William DARTY, of Akron, Ohio. Surviving also are two brothers, Harvey RIDENOUR, of LaFollette and Alec RIDENOUR, of Walnut Grove; four sisters, Mrs. Emma HEATHERLY, of Route 3, LaFollette, Mrs. Moss ALLEN, of Knoxville, and Mrs. Lizzie ALBRIGHT, of Coal Creek, and Mrs. Sarah HUNDLEY, near Walnut Grove. A large number of other relatives of Maryland, Tennessee, Ohio and Kentucky survive. [The LaFollette Press, Thursday, 20 November, 1930.] "Notice." All creditors of J.L.
