Born Dec. 20,1928 in Oakley, he was the son of the late Joseph Ambrose and Ada Knott. He attended Holy Angels School in Avenue and served two years in the U.S. Army. Read More	JOSEPH LOUIS KNOTT SR. Joseph Louis "Joe" Knott Sr. of Compton passed away at his home on Friday, May 10, 1991 at age 62. Born Dec. 20,1928 in Oakley, he was the son of the late Joseph Ambrose and Ada Knott. He attended Holy Angels School in Avenue and served two years in the U.S. Army. On May 10,1954, in St. Aloysius Church in Leonardtown he became the husband of Maude E. Tippett Knott. They had been married 37 years the day of Joe's death. He was the father of Joey Knott Jr. of St. Clement Shores; Janet L. Knott of Leonardtown; Nancy K. Knott of Compton; and grandfather of Chris Bradburn, Tina Bradburn and the late Chip Bradburn. He was father-in-law of Nancy E. Knott. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: James A. Knott of Oakley; Virginia Strain of La Plata; Catherine Brown of Waldorf; Agnes Macrae of La Plata; Barbara Hickey of Kansas; Leonard A. Knott of Mechanicsville; Margaret Bridgett of Mechanicsville and the late Dorothy Bowles. Joe had worked as a mechanic at the Bell Motor Company for 26 years and for St. Mary's County government at time of his death. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and loved fishing and was a volunteer driver for St. Mary's DSS. Prayers were said in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home chapel in Leonardtown on May 13. Mass was offered at May 14 in St. Francis Xavier Church in Compton. Interment followed in the Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown. Pallbearers for Mr. Knott were Chris Bradburn, Bobby Tippett, John "Moochie" Curry, Johnny Curry, Joe L.
