Joseph Louis Radosti was born December 22, 1925, to Joseph J. and Myrtle E. (Moss) Radosti at New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Holy Cross High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944. In the spring of 1945 he met Betty Faye Van Deveer while working in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard Personnel Office on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay. They were married November 9, 1945, at St. Cecelia Church in San Francisco. After his discharge from the service they lived in New Orleans for three years. In 1949 they moved to Creighton. He began his employment with the American National Bank of Creighton in May 1953. He took over management of the bank after the death of Dent Van Deveer in 1967 and became president of the bank in 1975. He was a member of St. Ludger Catholic Church, Creighton Chamber of Commerce, Creighton Development Corporation, Veterans of Foreign Wars #1151 and American Legion #74 of Creighton. He served on the Board of Directors of Lundberg Memorial Hospital and Greenwood Cemetery Association and served as chairman of Farmer's Night Committee of Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Yankton Elks #994, Nebraska Bankers Association, Independent Bankers of America and Friends of Ashfall Fossil Park. He received the Knights of AkSarBen Good Neighbor citation and in 1995 the Knox County Fair Book was dedicated to him. He liked all sports and played baseball on the old Creighton Town Team. He coached American Legion baseball. He was very active in golf and bowling and on January 4, 1968, he bowled a perfect score of 300. In his younger days he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He died suddenly March 6, while attending the Independent Bankers Convention in Las Vegas, NV. Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughter, Susan of Paullina, IA; son, Van of Sioux City, IA; three granddaughters [Adrianna, Kay Lea, and Genny]; a sister, Carol Ann and husband, Pete Barlow and a brother, Gerard and wife, Barbara Radosti all of Slidell, LA; a cousin and his wife [Herb and Cathy Lacassagne], nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
