Description	:	Joseph Marshall Schaaf, the son of Franklin and Earle (King) Schaaf, was born on April 7, 1929 near Hardy, NE. He passed away on January 25, 2003 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, NE at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 18 days. Joe attended and graduated from Hardy High School. Read More	Joseph Marshall Schaaf, the son of Franklin and Earle (King) Schaaf, was born on April 7, 1929 near Hardy, NE. He passed away on January 25, 2003 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, NE at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 18 days. Joe attended and graduated from Hardy High School. On June 19, 1951 he was inducted into the United States Army and honorable discharged on June 6, 1953. On August 2, 1953 he was united in marriage to Hulda (Honey) Hudson at the United Methodist Church in Superior and to this union was born three children. Joe was Postmaster at the Superior Post Office from 1958 thru 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Earle Schaaf and two sisters, Ethel Way and Helen Thayer. He is survived by his wife Honey of Superior, daughters Margaret Schaaf of Beatrice, NE Mona Luebs and husband Kent of Wood River, NE and one son, James Schaaf and wife Robin of Middletown, Delaware. Three grandchildren, Hannah Luebs and Katelyn and Kalli Schaaf along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 24, 2003 at 2:00 PM from Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Dorthea Fairbanks officiating. Interment with military rites was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, NE. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior in charge of the arrangements.
