Description	:	Joseph Eastwood (17954983) Suggested edit: Joseph Milton Eastwood was born in Monroe county Illinois, on December 27th 1828. He came to Kansas in 1856 with a New England colony which settled near what is now known as Old Geneva. He returned to Illinois for his family and started out in the spring of 1857, but owing to sickness in the colony he thought best to return to Illinois. In 1859 he came to Kansas and settled in Bourbon county on what is known as the Walnut Hill farm where he kept the post office from 1862 until 1875.... Read More	Joseph Eastwood (17954983) Suggested edit: Joseph Milton Eastwood was born in Monroe county Illinois, on December 27th 1828. He came to Kansas in 1856 with a New England colony which settled near what is now known as Old Geneva. He returned to Illinois for his family and started out in the spring of 1857, but owing to sickness in the colony he thought best to return to Illinois. In 1859 he came to Kansas and settled in Bourbon county on what is known as the Walnut Hill farm where he kept the post office from 1862 until 1875. In 1883 he came to Allen county and purchased the farm on which his son, J. F. Eastwood lives. In 1887 he went to Hailey, Idaho where in 1889 he purchased a claim but owing to ill health and the severity of the western winters he spent a great portion of his time with his sons in Kansas, where he died June 28, 1891. He was married in Jersey county, Illinois on February 17th 1848 to Mary Ann Pegg; Ten children were the results of this union, eight boys and two girls, six boys and one girl of which are still living. Mr. Eastwood was a member of the Masonic Order and in his young days took an active part in politics.
