Read More	JOSEPH ALLGIRE, B&O BRAKEMAN CRUSHED TO DEATH – Son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Allgire, Brunswick, and Well Known - - Joseph Allgire, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Allgire, Brunswick, was instantly killed early Thursday morning when he fell from a freight car in the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad yards, and several of the cars passed over him. The body was badly mangled. The Algire family is prominent in Brunswick and well known through the county. Mrs. Allgire is a member of the Democratic state central committee and is prominently known in state and county politics. H.C. Allgire was formerly a member of the Brunswick town council and recently was a candidate for mayor. Young Allgire, a brakeman on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, went on duty at midnight and was engaged in the yard on shifting duty. He was on the rear car of a ten-car make-up train, giving signals. it is believed that a sudden jerk threw him to the roadbed and from the condition of the body it seemed evident that the entire train has passed over him. The engineer, Victor Keefer, Brunswick, missing Allgire's signals brought the train to a standstill and accompanied by Charles Merriman, Knoxville, the other brakeman, left the train to investigate. They first found the head and and several car lengths away they found the mangled body. The left arm was severed, both legs were broken, both hips were crushed and the appearance of both locked as it the victim had grasped the rails and tried to pull himself from the path of cars, the fingers on both hands being crushed. Young Allgire had been employed by the railroad for five years and was formerly a student at Brunswick high school. He is survived by his parents and three brothers, Harry C. Allgire, Jr., Denton Allgire and Holmes Allgire, Brunswick. Funeral services were held at the home; interment was in Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick; arrangements were by C.H.
