Description	:	Joseph Patterson was born July 5, 1842, Raphoe, county Donegall, Ireland, and died at his home near Superior, April 23, 1922. He came to this country as a young man of 27 and settled first in Keithburg, Ills. In 1870 he was married to Mrs. Jeanette McIntyre. To this union were born four children, three girls and one boy. After his residence at Keithburg, Mr. Patterson came to Lenox, Iowa, where he lived for eight years. At the end of this time he again came west, settling at Burchar (sic), Nebr., in the year 1882.... Read More	Joseph Patterson was born July 5, 1842, Raphoe, county Donegall, Ireland, and died at his home near Superior, April 23, 1922. He came to this country as a young man of 27 and settled first in Keithburg, Ills. In 1870 he was married to Mrs. Jeanette McIntyre. To this union were born four children, three girls and one boy. After his residence at Keithburg, Mr. Patterson came to Lenox, Iowa, where he lived for eight years. At the end of this time he again came west, settling at Burchar (sic), Nebr., in the year 1882. After a ten year's residence there he came to Superior, locating on a farm northeast of here. February 8, 1914, Mrs. Patterson passed on and since that time Mr. Patterson has made his home with his daughter. Besides a wide circle of friends, the deceased leaves to mourn his death, Mrs. Della Worley of Superior; Mrs. Jas. Brown, Mrs. L.D. Carter and Mr. J. Chas. Patterson of Pallisade (sic). Mr. Patterson was known as a conscientious, God-fearing man. He took a keen interest in Prohibition politics and the affairs of the world in general. He served three terms as county commissioner for Nuckolls county. He was a life long member of the United Presbyterian church, which he served as a ruling elder while a member of the Burchard congregation.
