Funeral Services will be on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil, NE. Rev. Rob Barton will officiate and burial will be at the Glenvil, NE Cemetery. Joe was born on December 12th, 1924 on the family farm near Fairfield, Nebraska to John B. and Amy (Wells) Peshek. He was a graduate of Fairfield High School in 1942. He was proud to have lettered in football all four years of his High School career. After graduation, Joe attended Business School in Hastings, Nebraska. He then began his lifelong career in agriculture by farming and trucking cattle with his father. On a trip to the Pawnee Stock Farm near Spring Ranch, Nebraska to pick up a truck load of cattle headed to the Omaha Stockyards he met his future wife, Lillian Paus. Joe and Lillian started to date after seeing each other at various Luther League functions at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil. The two married on July 25, 1948 and began their life together on a farm they purchased west of Fairfield. On this farm, they began their sixty-eight-year marriage. Joe found his business niche when he bought a herd of Ayrshire dairy cattle. The family maintained the dairy operation for twenty-eight years. He was an engaged member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving on the Sunday School Board, Church Council and various work projects at the church. Joe continued farming until his retirement at the age of sixty-two. Upon retirement Joe and Lillian spent nearly twenty years traveling the United States and wintering in LaFeria Texas. Joe avidly pursued his favorite hobby, fishing, after he sold his Ayrshire dairy herd. He enjoyed many hours in his boat fishing with friends on Nebraska and Kansas lakes and on the banks of canals in Texas with his “Snowbird” friends. Joe is survived by his wife Lillian of Kearney; Brother, Orvis Peshek and wife Norma of Hastings; sons, Reverend John Peshek and wife Dee of Alexandria MN, Lyle Peshek of Irvine CA and Craig Peshek and wife Jodi of Kearney; Grandchildren, Jessica Peshek of Minneapolis MN, Josh Peshek of Bismarck ND, Dr. Darren Peshek of Ladera Ranch CA, Turrel Danson of Irvine CA, Samuel Peshek of College Station TX and Bailey Peshek of Kearney NE and five Great-Grandchildren. Joe was proceeded in death by his infant brother, Willard; older brother, Jack and younger sister, Elda Albright
