Description	:	Obituary It becomes our duty to chronicle the death of another one of the old citizens of Florida, Henry County, Ohio, in the person of Joseph Stout, son of John and Mary Stout. He was born in Richland County, Ohio, May 14th 1826, and moved to Henry County in the spring of 1833. Read More	Obituary It becomes our duty to chronicle the death of another one of the old citizens of Florida, Henry County, Ohio, in the person of Joseph Stout, son of John and Mary Stout. He was born in Richland County, Ohio, May 14th 1826, and moved to Henry County in the spring of 1833. The deceased was married to Martha E Barnhart, December 28th 1847, who died December 24th 1852, leaving two sons, Benjamin and Joseph E. Mr Stout was again married to Nancy King in the year 1856; by this marriage there were born to them four sons, two of whom died in infancy, and two are still living, Jackson K and Lester B. The deceased died at Toledo, Ohio, January 17th 1889, of paralysis, aged 62 years, 8 months and 2 days, leaving a widow and four sons to mourn the loss of a husband and father. The writer of this notice cannot refrain from saying a few words as to the life and character of the deceased. Mr Stout was my neighbor, my good kind friend, and as a neighbor he was kind and obliging; if one was in need and he had it to give or lend, he or she was sure to get it, and he would always say take, use it, and when done with it, put it back where you got it, and all would be right. At an early day in this county he was one among the businessmen and was possessed of a good deal of property and done a great deal in building up the village of Florida; in business he had been successful for many years, and was surrounded by many friends. Religiously, he was not a member of any church or a professor of religion, but would often go to the UB Chuch of Florida and pay strict attention to the preaching of God's word, and often heard him say "that was a good sermon". His funeral took place at the UB Church at Florida, where a large congregation had gathered to pay the last respect to an old citizen and friend, the Rev Warfield officiating, preaching from the words "Do good to all men", after which his remains were carried to the cemetery at Florida and buried out of sight, and as we turned away from this new made grave the thought came to us "shall we meet him no more on earth?" But we are cheered as we turn from this grave with the blessed thought "that he that believeth in Jesus, though he were dead, yet shall he live again". Thank God there is a rest remaining to the people of God; we will reach by and by.
