Description	:	Joe Oenning, age 94, retired farmer of the Uniontown area, went to be with his Lord, Thursday May 24, 2007. Joe was born Sept. 9, 1912, in Uniontown to Barney and Mary Schaff Oenning. He attended St. Boniface School and after graduation took up the operation of his father's farm. In 1934, Joe married Lucina Polinsky and they moved to the family farm north of Uniontown. Read More	Joe Oenning, age 94, retired farmer of the Uniontown area, went to be with his Lord, Thursday May 24, 2007. Joe was born Sept. 9, 1912, in Uniontown to Barney and Mary Schaff Oenning. He attended St. Boniface School and after graduation took up the operation of his father's farm. In 1934, Joe married Lucina Polinsky and they moved to the family farm north of Uniontown. Joe loved horses and took great pride in breaking colts into a team; he also operated a dairy for many years in addition to his farming. Joe always said a farmer is in partnership with God. As an honorary member of the Uniontown Knights of Columbus, he served as Grand Knight and was a member of Father Flour Fourth Degree. He also was honored to serve as Knights of Columbus State Advocate for two years. Joe was also a member of the Colton Grange and served many years as Master. He was also a member of the Whitman County Grange. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather and his biggest concern was the welfare of his family. Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Lucina, in 2005; brothers, Bernard, Harold and Ray; and sisters, Rose, Francis, Wilma and Betty. He is survived by one sister, Emaline Doane; six children, Arlene Welter, Doris Smiley, Carol Dollar, Ken, Dick and Dan Oenning; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews and friends. The rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown with the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
