Description	:	Joseph "Joe" Holton, 94, of Le Mars, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. Joe was born August 20, 1906 on a farm near Oyens, the son of William and Mary (Barnable) Holton. He was raised in the Oyens area and attended Saint Catherine's Parochial School in Oyens. On January 13, 1936, he married Rose Konz at Saint Joesph's Catholic Church in Granville. Read More	Joseph "Joe" Holton, 94, of Le Mars, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. Joe was born August 20, 1906 on a farm near Oyens, the son of William and Mary (Barnable) Holton. He was raised in the Oyens area and attended Saint Catherine's Parochial School in Oyens. On January 13, 1936, he married Rose Konz at Saint Joesph's Catholic Church in Granville. They farmed in the Oyens area until 1947, when they moved to farm south of Le Mars, and farmed their entire lives. Rose died February 2, 1996. Mr. Holton was a member of Saint James Catholic Church in Le Mars. He was a former longtime member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Merrill, where he served on the board of directors for many years. Survivors include two sons and their wives: Jack and LaVon Holton of Merrill, and Pat and Karol Holton of Le Mars; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Holton in infancy; tow brothers, Jim and Emmett Holton; and two sisters, Laura Fraking and Madeline Schwartz. Funeral services were held on May 29 at Saint James Catholic Church in Le Mars with the Reve. Richard Ries, the Rev. Richard Ball, the Rev. Don Smith and the Rev. Dennis Sefcik concelebrating.
