She moved with her parents to Iowa about 1855. Her childhood was spent in Marion county, Iowa, until the year of 1868 when she was united in marriage to Moses Smith of Johnson county, Kansas, who died January 5, 1915. To this union were born eight children; three preceded her in death. She died at the home of her son-Albert at Spencer, Wyoming, November 16, 1931, at the age of 87 years, 7 months, 7 days. Cleveland was born near Wonkon, Wisconsin, May 8, 1844. She moved with her parents to Iowa about 1855. Her childhood was spent in Marion county, Iowa, until the year of 1868 when she was united in marriage to Moses Smith of Johnson county, Kansas, who died January 5, 1915. To this union were born eight children; three preceded her in death. She died at the home of her son-Albert at Spencer, Wyoming, November 16, 1931, at the age of 87 years, 7 months, 7 days. Deceased was a member of the Christian Church, also a Charter member of the Woman's Relief Corps of Woodbine. She leaves to mourn her loss, five children; Mrs. Viola Crom of Lakeside, Nebraska; George Smith of Kennebec, South Dakota; James Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Minis and Albert Smith of Spencer, Wyoming. One brother, James Cleveland of Plainview, Nebraska, and one sister, Mrs. Tom Allen of Des Monies, Iowa; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Her body was brought to Woodbine, Thursday evening and funeral services were held Friday at the Heft Funeral Home, being conducted by Rev. Railsback of the Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Woodbine Cemetery.
