After several weeks of illness and great suffering, on Sunday, March 7, 1920 at two o'clock, God saw fit to call her up higher, to receive her eternal reward and to be with her little daughter who preceeded her by three weeks to the great beyond. After several weeks of illness and great suffering, on Sunday, March 7, 1920 at two o'clock, God saw fit to call her up higher, to receive her eternal reward and to be with her little daughter who preceeded her by three weeks to the great beyond. Mrs Stewart had spent her entire life, 37 years, 8 months and 15 days, in Marquette and surrounding community, where she was well known and greatly loved. On February 16, 1904, Josephine Anderson was united in marriage to C A Stewart. To this union was born four sons and one daughter. She leaves to mourn her departure besides her husband four sons, a father and mother, one sister and two brothers. The father, mother and one sister live in Marquette. One brother, George, lives in Utah; one brother, Henry, lives in Hordville; and her sister, Mrs Hattie Williams, lives at Oleatha, Kansas. All were in attendance at the funeral except the brother George. Mrs Stewart was a devoted wife and mother and to realize a duty was to perform it. She was of a cheerful and loving disposition and not only will she be missed in the home but in every circle where she was known. She united with the M E church on March 17, 1912. The funeral servcies were conducted at the M E church at 2:30, Tuesday afternoon, and the body was laid to rest beside that of her little daughter, Evelyn, in the Richland cemetery.
