From Story County Watchman September 28, 1888 DIED.--On Wednesday morning last after a lingering illness, Mrs. Josephine B. Fenn, wife of Postmaster Fenn, age about 48 years. She was the daughter of J. C. Kinsell of Cambridge, this county. She was a native of Pennsylvania, and moved with her parents to this county at an early day and was married to Mr. Fenn about twenty-five years ago and has lived in this city for that length of time. She leaves a husband and three daughters, and brothers and sisters mourn her loss. Mrs. Fenn was alway prominent in all matters which promised to do good for the community and her loss will be a severe one to all those who were in the habit of looking to others for aid and consolation. The funeral took place yesterday from the residence of Mr. Fenn, under charge of the I. O. G. T. order of which she was an honored member. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. R. A. Ferguson, Revs. Danner, Groat and Zeigler taking part in the services. There was a large attendance. From Story County Watchman October 5, 1888 In Memoriam. Action of New Hope Lodge, No. 240 I. O. G. T. Nevada, Iowa. October 1st, 1888. WHEREAS, Our Heavenly Father, in his wisdom and loving kindness, has seen fit to remove ftrom eath to heaven our beloved sister and fellow worker in this noble cause, Mrs. Josephine B. Fenn, sho died at her home in this city, Sept. 26th, 1888, after a long and painful illness; and WHEREAS, We as a lodge of Good Templars, deeply deplore this visitation of an all wise providence which has deprived us of one of our most active and useful members; one dear to our hearts, therefore be it RESOLVED, That while we do not understand the Providence overruling and directing this event, and while we feel deeply th loss of our sister, yet we bow in humble submission to the will of Him, who doeth all things well, feeling that our loss is her eternal gain Than in the death of sister Fenn, not only has this Lodge sustained a severe loss, but a good wife and a true mother has been taken from her family and humanity has lost a friend. That we will deep our Lodge draped in mourning thirty days in memory of our departed sister. That we tender to her bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy in this time of deep sorrow to them. That these resolutions be spread upon our records; a copy furnished each one of our city payers and also a copy sent to the family of our deceased sister. R. A. FERGUSON, E. M. HOSIER, L. B.
