They lived there for 14 years. In 1986 they moved to Oroville, California. Memorial services will be held in Michigan for Josephine Mary Letcher, 87 of Chico. She passed away on Friday, Nov. 18, 2005 at a Paradise care home. Josephine was born Jan. 7, 1918 in Buchanan, Mich. to Thomas and Barbara Yurkovic. In 1938 she married Harvey Letcher. They moved their family to California in 1965. She was a member of Our Divine Savior Catholic Church in Buchanan, Mich. Jo was an avid walker and delighted in flowers of any kind, but had a particular fondness for roses. She enjoyed dancing, reading and spending time with her family. Her survivors include three sons, Richard of Decatur, Mich., Donald of Applegate, and Dennis of Chico; three daughters, Janet Harper of Meridian, Idaho, Joyce of San Diego, and Jaclyn Goodrich of Big Fork, Mont.; one sister, Ann Stawicki of Sacramento; one brother, Tom Yurkovic of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother George, and her husband Harvey in 1993. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home. --------------------------------- Another obituary follows: --- Josephine Mary Letcher, 87, of Paradise, California, formerly of Buchanan, died November 18, 2005. Graveside services will be held Saturday July 8th at 11:00 am at the Kight Chapel at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan, Michigan. Father Charles Page of St. Anthony's Catholic Church will officiate. Local arrangements entrusted to Swem Funeral Home. Mrs. Letcher was born January 7, 1918, in Buchanan, to Thomas and Barbara Yurkovic. She graduated from Buchanan High School in 1936. In 1938, in Three Oaks, [MI] she married Harvey Letcher. They lived in the Buchanan area for many years and were members of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. In 1965, the family moved to California where Harvey died in 1993. Survivors include three sons, Richard (Linda) of Decatur, Michigan: Donald (Patricia) of Applegate, California: Dennis (Victoria) of Chico, California: three daughters, Janet (Ronald) Harper, of Meridian, Idaho: Joyce Letcher of San Diego, California: and Jaclyn (Dean) Goodrich of Big Fork, Montana: a sister, Ann Stawicki of Sacramento, California: a brother, Thomas Yurkovic of Wesley Chapel, Florida: 11 grandchildren: and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: her brother George Yurkovic: and a son, David, who died at birth in 1948. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southwest Michigan Chapter, 2727 S. 11th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009-2123. --------------------------------
